Windows 2008 Shows Low Disk Space on FAT32 Partition

"I have a 500GB Seagate hard disk which still has about 300GB free space. I divided this hard disk into three partitions, namely C drive, D drive and E drive. Now, the C drive which has FAT32 file system is running on low disk space, while the D drive and E drive which have NTFS file system still has much free space. I want to squeeze some free space from E drive which has a capacity of 220GB and 165GB free space to create some unallocated space. And then, I want to move the unallocated space to the C drive. Now, I have squeezed some unallocated space from the E drive with help of the Shrink Volume function under Disk Management, but I cannot add the unallocated space to C drive because the Extend Volume is greyed out. Why cannot I extend the C drive even if there is much unallocated space? How could I move the unallocated space to FAT32 C drive in Windows Server 2008?"

Why Disk Management Failed to Extend FAT32 C Drive?

It is true that Windows Server 2008 OS has improved its functions, which enables its users to perform a better disk management under "Disk Management". Windows Server 2008 users know that they can resize hard disk under "Disk Management" so that they do not need to repartition hard disk. The "Shrink Volume" option under "Disk Management" helps you shrink the partition that has enough free space to create some unallocated space, and the "Extend Volume" option helps add the unallocated space to the partition that is lacking free space. It sounds easy to resize hard disk under "Disk Management" on Windows Server 2008, but many users find that it is easy to shrink a partition but they always meet problem when want to add the free space to extend the partition. Why? When you shrink a partition, the free space squeezed from the partition will show as unallocated space behind the selected partition. If you want to add the unallocated space to the partition you want to extend, you need to move the unallocated space close to that partition.

Partition Software for Windows 2008 Extend FAT32 Partition

As matter of fact, for the situation above, you just need to come up with a method to move the unallocated space close to the FAT32 partition. Although Disk Management does not allow you to move a partition, IM-Magic Partition Resizer Server enables you to move disk partition with original data untouched. This partition software also allows you to shrink and extend partition without any limitation. This software can not only resize FAT32 partition, but also it enables you to resize NTFS partition. If you can use this software to perform partition resizing, you don't need to reinstall system or reboot your computer to get the partition extended easily.

Tips for Partition Resizing

Here are some tips for you when you want to perform partition resizing by using the IM-Magic Partition Resizer Server:
