I Receive Low Disk Space Warning on C Drive

"I bought the computer several years ago and I installed a SATA hard disk on this computer. Recently, the hard disk is nearly full, so I format the D drive after backup all important data. However, I am not sure if I can format C drive because operating system is installed on this partition. I am afraid it will cause system crash after formatting C drive system partition. If I do not format C drive, system keeps reporting low disk space warning. Please tell me if there is any way to free up disk space on C drive without formatting."

"I got a low disk space alert message on C drive in Windows Server 2012. It asks me to delete old files to free up disk space on the C drive.
